The struggle will continue till the end of separate pension system

At the tehsil level, Punjab staged a protest against the government by forming a new alliance with organizations fighting for the restoration of the old pension scheme under the banner of NPS Workers Union. Addressing on this occasion Mohit Gupta, Pawan Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Vipan Kumar, Vijay Pratap Singh said that the governments have always adopted double standards. While maintaining the old system for MLAs, they were kept under the new pension system while discriminating against the employees recruited after 2004. Fighting on various platforms in the state for the restoration of the old pension system to end this discrimination and secure their future. But now they have all come together and started the struggle under the banner of the post-merger coalition National Pension Scheme Employees Union. This struggle will continue till the restoration of the old pension scheme. Under this joint program, the union  staged a protest today at the tehsil level and the next program will be held on November 22 in the district.A press note was issued by Vipan Parashar and Mohit Gupta under the chairmanship of district president Puneet Sagar. He said that after the formation of the review committee constituted by the Punjab government in the name of restoration of old pension, the government is only wasting time, as no concrete action has been taken by the committee even after such a long time. Due to which today the employees from all over the state have expressed their displeasure in all the tehsils while mocking the Punjab government. The leaders further said that the state government was not following the policy of meeting the demands of the employees as the central government had issued orders to provide family pension to the employees recruited after 2004 after their death while on duty. Employees have also started getting the benefit of these orders. In contrast, the Punjab government had only issued a letter for the implementation of the centre’s order but it has not been completed yet. Rather, it was unnecessarily delaying the payment of family pension benefits to the employees as per the decision implemented by the Centeral Government. In addition, the government has also reduced its share in the Powercom department from 14 per cent to 10 per cent, which is a clear push. On the one hand, the government is asking to implement the central plans, on the other hand, it is running away from implementing the decisions taken by the center. The government is exploiting the working class instead of encouraging public servants during this corona epidemic. Which the organization will not tolerate at any cost. Addressing the government in a cautionary tone, the leaders said that if the old pension scheme was not revived soon and the notification to implement family pension on the lines of the central government was not implemented, then the next decision of the state committee According to, the conflict will be intensified. About two lakh aggrieved employees of the state will be forced to walk the path of struggle and all the responsibility will be on the state government. Leaders and staff including Amarjit Singh Jasbir Singh Sikander Singh, Sandeep Bhagat Kripal Chand Manmohan Singh were present on the occasion.
